Happy New Years! I know I might be a little late to the New Years Resolutions and Goal Planning bang wagon but I haven’t done mine just yet! I hate to admit but I’m usually late to the party since the holidays are usually the craziest time of the year for me rather than being a time to reflect and relax.
I am now a completely changed woman: does enjoying podcasts means I’m an adult now? I find myself putting on podcasts in my car during my commute, in the gym (for steady state cardio only because I need all the intense house beats for my high intensity weight lifting routine) and at work while I’m UXing the shit out of software.
I’ve been at a lost. Ever since I completed my masters I feel like I haven’t grabbed life by the horns as much as I did. I can’t believe how I balanced work, school, family, my relationship, my friends during these last 2 years. I can say I’m extremely proud of all that I accomplished - but now what? I have to tell you, I’ve been getting into some self help books.
I am a bit behind on posting about moving back home and what I have been pursuing, changing and experiencing. I moved back from in July 2018 for several reasons: to save money, to be closer to my family, to be closer to my boyfriend and wanting a slower lifestyle (Boston is very fast paced).
Investing in yourself seemed like a no brainer to my go-getter self. When college ends, it doesn’t mean that the learning and investing in yourself should too. You’re now in the real world, competing with millions of other people and a lot of them will seem better, stronger, smarter and more talented. Investing in yourself makes you stand out to others around you: you’ll pick up skills that will make you a better employee, you’ll be more aware of the world around you.
